The disease is named after Carlos Chagas, the Brazilian doctor and researcher who first diagnosed the disease in a human being on 14 April 1909.

The decline in per capita water availability highlights the severity of the crisis. In 1947, per capita water availability was more than 5,000 cubic metres, but today it has fallen to nearly 1,400 cubic metres. If this level falls below 1,000 cubic metres, India will officially be categorised as a “water-scarce nation.”
Precipitation and Limited Utilisable Water
India receives abundant rainfall annually, estimated at nearly 4,000 BCM, mainly through the South-West Monsoon. However, only around 1,123 BCM of this water is considered “utilisable.”

Organisational Structure of the International Labour Organization (ILO)
International Labour Conference (ILC)
The International Labour Conference is the highest decision-making body of the ILO and is often referred to as the “International Parliament of Labour.”

International Labour Office
The International Labour Office serves as the permanent secretariat of the ILO.

ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work
The ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work was adopted in 1998.
Through this declaration, all member States committed themselves to respect and promote certain fundamental labour rights, even if they had not formally ratified the related conventions.
The declaration identifies four core categories of labour rights.
Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining
Workers and employers have the right to:
