About NBCFDC
The National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) is a Government of India undertaking functioning under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
It was incorporated on 13 January 1992 under the Companies Act, 1956. At present, it functions as a Section 8 company under the Companies Act, 2013, which means it operates as a non-profit organization.
The corporation was established with the objective of promoting the economic and developmental activities of the backward classes and assisting poorer sections through financial support, skill development, and self-employment opportunities.
Objectives of NBCFDC
The main objective of NBCFDC is to improve the socio-economic condition of people belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and other eligible backward communities.

Mission of NBCFDC

Implementation Mechanism
NBCFDC provides financial assistance through agencies nominated by State Governments and Union Territories.
These include:
State Channelizing Agencies (SCAs)
Public Sector Banks (PSBs)
Regional Rural Banks (RRBs)
These institutions help in identifying beneficiaries, distributing loans, and implementing various welfare and development schemes at the grassroots level.
Major Schemes of NBCFDC

General Loan Scheme

Micro Finance Scheme
