India has selected two Indian Air Force Group Captains, Shubhanshu Shukla and Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, to participate in the Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4).

Mission Details

  • Type: Fourth private astronaut mission by NASA in collaboration with Axiom Space.
  • Docking: Expected to dock with the International Space Station (ISS) for 14 days.
  • Launch Provider: SpaceX has been contracted as the launch provider for the mission.

Objectives

  • The training and experience gained by the selected astronauts will contribute significantly to India's human space program, enhancing knowledge and expertise in manned spaceflight operations.
