About Antariksh Venture Capital Fund
The Antariksh Venture Capital Fund is a dedicated financial initiative created to strengthen India’s private space ecosystem. The fund aims to provide financial assistance to emerging space startups and companies working on advanced space technologies.
It is a close-ended fund registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) as a Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF).
The fund has been designed to support innovation, commercialization, and expansion of India’s growing space industry.

Registration and Structure
The fund is officially registered under SEBI regulations as an Alternative Investment Fund. Being a close-ended fund means that investments are made for a fixed tenure and cannot be withdrawn freely before maturity.The fund is exclusively focused on supporting India’s space sector startups and companies.

The major investor in the fund is the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe), which functions under the Department of Space, Government of India.

The fund is sponsored by SIDBI Venture Capital Limited, which is known for supporting startups and innovation-driven enterprises in India.
Investment Objective
The primary objective of the Antariksh Venture Capital Fund is to provide much-needed financial support to companies operating in the space sector at different stages of development.

These companies must have a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 4 or above, meaning the technology has already been tested and validated in laboratory conditions and is ready for further development and commercialization.
About Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe)
IN-SPACe is an autonomous agency functioning under the Department of Space. It was established after India introduced major space sector reforms to encourage private sector participation in space activities.
It acts as a single-window nodal agency for authorizing and promoting activities of non-governmental entities in the Indian space sector.
Functions of IN-SPACe
IN-SPACe performs several important functions related to the development of the private space ecosystem in India.
It:
Promotes and enables private participation in space activities
Authorizes and supervises space-related activities of private entities
Facilitates the building of satellites and launch vehicles
Supports space-based services by private players
Allows sharing of ISRO infrastructure and facilities
Encourages establishment of new space infrastructure
IN-SPACe acts as a bridge between Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and private space companies.
