Russia’s S8000 Banderol is a low-cost cruise missile that has reportedly been used in the air war over Ukraine, particularly along the Black Sea coast.

About Banderol Missile

The S8000 Banderol, meaning “package” or “small parcel”, is a Russian-developed cruise missile designed with an emphasis on low-cost and simplified production.

Launch Platforms

The missile is primarily an air-launched weapon and is associated with the Orion UAV as its main launch platform. It has also been integrated with the Mi-28 Havoc attack helicopter.

Reports indicate that Russia has also developed a compact ground launcher, expanding the missile's potential launch options beyond airborne platforms.
