The expenditure is shared in a 60:40 ratio, with 60% funding provided by the Central Government and 40% by the State Government or Union Territory.

These states receive financial assistance in a 90:10 ratio, with the Central Government contributing 90% of the total cost and the respective state contributing 10%.

Union Territories without Legislature

The scheme is fully funded (100%) by the Central Government.
